Idiotically-conceived reformat of local news to appeal to Millennials insults intended viewer-base, fails at absolutely everything besides the act of failing itself

One of Denver's many endlessly grating and moronic "news personalities" on one of Denver's many endlessly grating and moronic local news outlets, image direct from the source (KMGH 7 News)

"The Now" is a...local Denver news program? Yet another cheaply made knock-off of Tosh.0? Some weird convergence of the two? I honestly don't know, and after a few weeks of watching it semi-regularly I still don't know. As far as I can tell it's nearly indistinguishable from the many hours of daily local news programming from KMGH 7 other than a very slightly greater emphasis on viral videos and events and an "edgier" format, which apparently means eschewing chairs in favor of awkward-looking countertops likely salvaged from municipal government surplus and putting interns, program directors, researchers and other personnel who would always be behind the camera in an actual credible news production in front of the lens to very awkwardly opine about something they've been informed about just 12 seconds ago. It's about as desperate and embarrassingly conceived as, well, anything else in the Denver news market.

The program's head anchor and resident "Hey, I'm Still One Of The Hip Cool Guys Despite Being On TV !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! " Guy Lionel Bienvenu (a quick click on the link will immediately explain the odd last name) recycledpresented !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! on how Millennials are office workplace jerks, including stealing credit for other coworker's ideas. To present a "counter-argument," Bienvenu presented the "resident office Millennial," some young woman who's name I immediately forgot probably because she's not just the office Millennial but the office intern, to do an extremely poor job of defending Millennials as well as an even poorer job of executing banter off of Bienvenu. Unfortunately the video of the whole experience is not available on KMGH 7's website - and perhaps, for the whole world, that is for the best.

An ironic juxtaposition during the Great Deperssion, taken from ThePeoplesCube.com

I don't think I need to say anything about how I'm rather tired of Millennial bashing from the media, as I'm sure it's a widely held sentiment. I don't know why it's so popular - maybe it's because older generations feel threatened by a younger workforce, maybe because media outlets feel it's a surefire way to get eyeballs glued to the TV or newspaper, or perhaps even most likely, it's just a figment of my easily-offended sensibilities. Either way, Millennial-bashing isn't a great way to make Millennials feel welcome - and perhaps I'm ok with that. If economic and social opportunities are starting to feel that limited and overly-competitive, then maybe it's just time to pick up and leave. Much of Europe and Asia is either predicted to face, or is currently facing a population crisis and will either soon need a massive population boost or are trying to figure out how to promote such without upsetting the current social status-quo too much. This is hardly unprecedented either - a comparatively large percentage of Americans upped and left after growing wearing of a lack of recovery during the Great Depression. !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , eager to court new blood into the growing global Communist revolution. Sure, it wasn't a fun time for them in the end, but at least the initial promise of the Worker's Paradise made it seem that, compared to poverty in the US, they had nothing to lose.

So, hey, if I'm not feeling welcome in my own home country, I'm more than happy to call somewhere else home. In the meantime there are thousands of people risking their very lives to get in here and I'm starting to think that, you know what, maybe they can have it. The whole damn shebang. Maybe they can make better what a bunch of spoiled brats (myself included) have taken for granted.
